For the rowing world, the Head Of The Charles Regatta is part racing, part rowing, part reunion, and part festival. For spectators, festival prevails. The time trial format of racing can be hard to understand, as it isn't always clear who is winning; and yet, plenty of spectators come out to celebrate Boston, learn about the sport, and watch over 1200 boats race up the river on a beautiful fall day.
