Scull Grip Options

The scull grip options available depend on the handle you've chosen. To see grip availability by handle, use the following:




Smooth Green Rubber

  • Available with our Length Adjustment System only
  • Diameters: 32 mm (thin), 34.5 mm (medium), 37 mm (thick)
  • Firm, smooth texture
  • Most durable, easy to clean

Ice Blue and Azure Blue Rubber

  • Available on fixed composite handles and with our Length Adjustment System
  • 32.5–39 mm diameters, depending on handle (see chart)
  • Diameters: 33.5 mm (ice blue), 36 mm (azure blue)
  • Diameters: 32.5 (ice blue, narrow handle), 35.5 (ice blue, medium handle), 35 mm (azure blue, narrow handle), 37.5 (azure blue, medium handle)
  • Diameters: 35 mm (ice blue, narrow handle), 37 mm (ice blue, medium handle), 37 mm (azure blue, narrow handle), 39 mm (azure blue, medium handle)
  • Firm feel with longitudinal ribs
  • Easy to clean

Black Rubber

  • Available on fixed composite handles and with our Length Adjustment System
  • 34–39 mm diameters, depending on handle (see chart)
  • Diameters: 34 mm (narrow handle), 37 mm (medium handle)
  • 35 mm diameter
  • Diameters: 36.5 mm (narrow handle), 39 mm (medium handle)
  • Firm, rubber texture
  • Durable, does not show dirt

Blue Cellular Foam

  • Available with our Length Adjustment System only
  • 35 mm diameter
  • Soft feel with a firm, sponge-like texture
  • Requires more frequent cleaning to retain grip properties

None or Bare Core

  • 28.5–34 mm diameter, depending on handle (see chart)
  • Diameters: 28.5 mm (narrow handle), 31.5 (medium handle)
  • 30 mm diameter
  • Diameters: 31 mm (narrow handle), 34 mm (medium handle)
  • On adjustable composite handles, the bare core is the structural outside grip of our Length Adjustment System that allows for a 5cm range of adjustment. The bare core is meant to be rowed with a grip, but we offer this option for people who plan to use their own or another manufacturer’s grips on their sculls.
