Concept2 Utility System Requirements

The Concept2 Utility is both Windows and Mac-compatible. Please refer to the system requirements below.

Windows

  • Windows 7*, Vista*, XP Pro or Windows XP Home

    Notes:
  • Working USB Port to connect PM or external card reader (when using the PM with the Concept2 Utility, a USB cable is also needed)
  • Optional: Internet connection to perform internet-related tasks such as:
    • Uploading workouts to the Concept2 Online Logbook
    • Receive notifications that a new Concept2 Utility Version is available
    • Download new versions of PM3 or PM4 firmware
  • Optional: PM3 Firmware Version 90 or above; PM3 Firmware Version 101 or above required for use with the Concept2 Utility Version 6.10 (pertains to PM3 users only)

    Note: If you plan to use a PM3 with the Concept2 Utility to read your LogCard, advanced Concept2 Utility functions are not available unless the PM3 is running Firmware Version 90 or above. Basic functions such as backing up a LogCard or transferring LogCard data to a CSV file should work with earlier firmware versions. Mac users who would like to use their PM3 in conjunction with the Concept2 Utility must upgrade to Firmware Version 90 or above. For optimal usage, Concept2 recommends that all PM users upgrade to the latest firmware version available for the model PM you have.
  • Optional: External LogCard Reader:
    • OmniKey CardMan 3121 card reader (not compatible with Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard))
    • Athena ASE IIIe

Macintosh

  • OS X 10.3 Panther, 10.4 Tiger, or 10.5 Leopard. For Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) users, Concept2 recommends using the current version of the Concept2 Utility Version.

Note: Concept2 has had reports from some customers that the OmniKey 4000 and OmniKey 4040 card readers work with the Windows version of the Concept2 Utility. Please note that this information is provided here for your reference and that Concept2 does not directly support these devices.
