Report from Rio

The 2016 CrossFit Games was an exciting event for competitors and Concept2 CTS for a variety of reasons. Not only was it the 10th anniversary of the CrossFit Games but also the 10th anniversary of Concept2 CTS’ participation. Athletes saw their week start with a surprise trip back to original Games location, “The Ranch”, in Aromas, California, and were also introduced to a new element from Concept2, the SkiErg.
There's no snow around this time of year—just pavement and the SkiErg. But that doesn’t mean you can’t be working on your ski technique. The Green Racing Project (GRP) is an Olympic development cross-country ski, biathlon and rowing program based at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center in Craftsbury, Vermont. GRP athletes train year-round and race throughout the country, often earning opportunities to represent the US in international competition. Along the way, the athletes live as sustainably as they can, take care of their environment, and give back to their community.

National Learn to Row Day, sponsored by Concept2 and USRowing, was a big success!
The countdown to the Olympic Opening Ceremony is underway (as of today, 60 days and counting!) and athletes’ tickets are being stamped for Rio. For rowers, the qualification process involves many steps including qualifying both the boat class and the athletes.
If any job required a background in psychotherapy it might be a job in human resources (HR). That’s one of the reasons why Lewis Franco was cut out to be Concept2’s Human Resource Director.
