World Rowing Indoor Championships

The World Rowing Indoor Championships has official world championship status. The race changes venue each year, showcasing a truly international sport and bringing the best athletes from all corners of the globe.

The next event is in 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 event will be a virtual live race from February 23–27, 2021. There are two different ways to qualify for the 2021 event: you can either submit a result online via the Open Qualification path or you can qualify from one of the online continental championships. The finals will have include 10-20 qualified athletes per race category. More information on the 2021 virtual race and qualification can be found on the World Rowing website.

After 2021, the World Rowing Indoor Championships will resume as normal and will be held in the following locations:

  • 2022 World Rowing Indoor Championships—Hamburg, GER
  • 2023 World Rowing Indoor Championships—Toronto, CAN
  • 2024 World Rowing Indoor Championships—Prague, CZE
