Venue Racing Application
Last Updated 2/17/09
The Venue Race Application allows you to link together two or more indoor rowers with PM3s or PM4s for racing. This program has its roots in e-Row but is substantially modified to specifically meet the needs of venue races, such as the CRASH-B races. Indoor rowers can be linked using USB hubs and cables or PM4s with ethernet cables.
The Venue Race Application has several methods of communicating with PM3s and PM4s:
- USB—For up to 20 ergs attached to a PC
- Wired RS485—For up to 40 ergs attached to a PC
The 2/17/09 release contains the following fixes:
- Fixes the bug with the New Race wizard. All lanes fill in with proper numbering now.
- Fixes the Windows Sockets error that occurred if you tried to launch the application before Windows had fully booted or when another copy of the Venue Race Application was already running.
- Fixes the issue where Meters Behind was displayed on the computer when the name display option was turned off. The computer now correctly shows no value when the name display option is off.
- Fixes issues with False Starts.
Vista Compatibility
Version 3.2.4 and higher is compatible with Windows Vista. Version 3.2.4 was released on January 10th, 2008.
Note: The Venue Race Application has been tested very briefly at Concept2. Before using this application for a live race, please test every feature to your satisfaction and report any problems to rowing@concept2.com.
Windows 7 Compatibility
Concept2 does not officially support Windows 7 at this time. There are significant known issues when attempting to run the Venue Race Application on Windows 7. There is no target date for Windows 7 support.
Recommended PM3/PM4 Firmware
Concept2 recommends that PM3s and PM4s in use with the Venue Race Application run the latest firmware versions.
