| Symptom | Possible Cause | Remedy |
|---|---|---|
| Monitor display fails to come on when you start to row. | The AA batteries in the PM2 may be dead. | Insert new batteries. See the |
| If you just changed the batteries, they may be in upside down. |
|
|
| PM2/PM2+ pickup wire may not be securely plugged in on the back of monitor. | Make sure the plug is inserted completely. | |
| Faded or incomplete segments on the PM2 display. | Poor connection between LCD and circuit board. |
|
| Entire monitor screen (not just heart rate display) goes blank when the heart rate cable is plugged in. | A short-circuit that occurs if the heart rate cable is plugged into the PM2 while the monitor is turned ON. | Push the ON/OFF button once to turn the PM2 off, then push the ON/OFF button again to turn the PM2 back on again. We suggest that the heart rate cable be plugged into the monitor when the PM2 is turned off. |
| The monitor is showing E011 or E012. | This is a non-serious error code that is built into the PM2/PM2+. | Hold down the four bottom buttons on the face of the monitor (recall, 2 set digits, ready). While holding these, press and release the ON/OFF button. You can release the four buttons now. The monitor should do some fast counting for 10-15 seconds and then display a number 5 in the center area. At this point, press and release the ON/OFF button again. Zeros should come up and the monitor should work. |
| The monitor is showing other error codes (E001-E010). | May indicate a more serious problem with your monitor. |
