Model A Maintenance
The Model A was our original Rowing Ergometer made between the years of 1981 and 1986. It had a bicycle spoked flywheel, six (sometimes five) sprockets and came with a speedometer. Skewer Return Mechanism InformationSome Model A Ergometers came with a "skewer return mechanism" inside the monorail. All Model A machines with serial #84-8 to 85-66, or with serial #Nov. 4, 1985 and after have an improved return mechanism assembly already which is far easier to install than previous systems. This assembly is retrofittable to all Concept2 Model A Rowing Ergometers. No modifications are required to use the skewer in Model As with serial #83-13 and up (these machines are easily identified by the black arms and feet, not chrome plated). For older machines, serial #83-12 and lower or no serial number at all, a modified leg bolt set is available at the cost of $2.00 (Part Number 343). Speedometer/Monitor InformationConcept2 no longer sells parts for the speedometer. It is possible, however, to retrofit a PM4 or a PM3 to the Model A Indoor Rower. |
