Racing with PM3s, PM2s, & PM1s
Racing with PM3s or with a Mix of PM3s/PM4s

If you have PM3s, your option for running a race is to run a wired, with-PC race using USB cables as the means of wiring (network/Ethernet cables will not work). This is also your option if you have a mix of PM3s and PM4s.
Wired racing with a PC requires the use of a software package to manage the race. The two software packages available are:
- Concept2’s Venue Race Application
The Venue Race Application is available as a free download from the Service section of our website. You will also find supporting documentation, such as Race Guides, indoor rower configuration, wiring diagrams, known issues, and 3rd party solutions you can use in conjunction with the Venue Race Application. - Digital Rowing’s RowPro
Compatible with PM4s wired with USB cables (view wiring diagrams)
RowPro enables Venue Racing with up to 16 boats per race in full 3D. Boats can be single sculls, doubles, quads or octuples. RowPro also enables Online Rowing and Racing with one single scull per PC.
For more information about racing with RowPro, visit digitalrowing.com/racing.
Racing with PM2+s
If you have PM2+s, your option for running a race is to use the e-Row software. The e-Row software is available as a free download from the Service section of our website. Along with the downloads, you will find supporting information and documentation, and various groups you can contact for support.
While Concept2 can answer questions regarding the e-Row software, the software itself is no longer being maintained. If you are running a large, formal race, Concept2 recommends using PM3s or PM4s and either the Venue Race Application or RowPro.
Racing with PM2s and PM1s

The first CRASH-B
“Say, what?!” Sure, you can race on PM2s and PM1s… you’ll just need to take the "old fashioned" approach... (anyone remember that first CRASH-B?)
To race with PM2s and PM1s:
- Preset all the PMs to the race distance.
- Start the race.
- Use paper and pencils to record the times displayed on the PMs as each competitor finishes.
Keep in mind that indoor rowers with PM2s and PM1s cannot be wired together, so racing with a PC or having advanced features such as an audience display is not possible. If you need more advanced features for your race, you will need to upgrade your equipment. See the Racing with PM3s section above, or visit the Racing with PM4s page for more information.
