Challenges Overview

Concept2 challenges customers to complete certain goals during set times throughout the year. Many of these challenges reward consistency and total meters instead of speed, giving an extra incentive to work out regularly. And you can feel good that you are part of the larger Concept2 community, even if you work out alone! Feel free to add one, several, or all of these challenges to your training; they are a great way to stay motivated throughout the year!

How to Participate

All of our online challenges are run through the Concept2 Online Logbook—a free web-based application that allows you to record your rowing/skiing workouts, track your total meters and, if you choose to, compare your times with other participants from around the world.

To participate in an Individual Challenge, you simply need to create an online logbook and record your meters in it.

To participate in a Team Challenge you must be part of a team administered by a team captain (please note that this is different from the team/club affiliation you can choose in your online logbook Profile).

To find a team, click on the Teams link in your Online Logbook or visit the Concept2 Training Forum to find a team recruiting members. Once you are on a team, you log your meters to your online logbook (just like during an Individual Challenge) and any meters you log during the challenge will contribute to your team's total meters.

Creating an Online Logbook

Take the following steps to create a free online logbook at Concept2:

  1. Click Online Tools in the navigation bar above, then select Online Logbook (or go straight to concept2.com/sranking03/log.asp).
  2. Under NEW USERS, click REGISTER.
  3. Follow the instructions to set up your logbook.
  4. Once you have an online logbook, use it to record all the meters that you row or ski (including on water or on snow meters!). Meters that apply will be credited toward any ongoing challenges (for example, some challenges are only for meters rowed on the indoor rower).
  5. During the challenge, click Challenges in your online logbook to find links to honor boards and instructions on obtaining awards.
