| Performance MaxTM (PMAX) is a structured, 10-week cardiovascular cross-training program for fitness enthusiasts of all levels. Six years and more than 1,000 participants later, PMAXTM has been proven to help participants achieve significant gains in strength and endurance. PMAX combines periodized heart-rate zone training and cross-training principles to gradually build your cardiovascular fitness. Because the trainings are based on your individual heart-rate training zones as established by your entry VO2 test, you are able to work at a level that best suits your degree of fitness, gradually building to peak performance by the end of the 10 weeks. You participate in a progressive series of 30 structured group training sessions, each lasting two hours. Classes are led by highly trained and experienced fitness coaches with diverse backgrounds. You also receive ongoing coaching and performance feedback to help you map your progress. The periodized nature of a Performance Max rotation enables you to spend the Foundation Phase (the first four weeks) developing your cardiovascular fitness and improving your form on each of the training modalities (indoor cycling, rowing, and computerized cycling). From there you build strength in Phase Two. By Phase Three (the last three weeks of the program), you are ready to engage in performance efforts. In Performance Max you learn how to use your body and your mind to achieve specific goals. Acquiring the discipline and focus to meet such challenges in the controlled environment of an athletic pursuit translates powerfully to other challenges faced outside the fitness setting. |
