Carlisle PA USA USNA '75; Rowed at USNA 1971-1973. Got my Concept2 in 2008. It is said that erging is one means of helping to avoid having to be hooked up to a machine when older. Hey, wait a minute...!

Raleigh NC USA Rowed at FD Roosevelt HS, Hyde Park NY ('72 - 8's) and the U.S. Naval Academy ('76 - 8's and 4+). In 20 years in the Navy and with 4 children, there was little extra time AND I didn't think much about erging after college. As a new empty nester, it was great to find a rowing club nearby and sculled for the 1st time in a 2x and 4x in the Fall of '08. I'm only able to row a few times per week, which is fun but doesn't help with conditioning. In Nov '08, I watched a HS team work out on 20+ C2’s. I checked into them and the club’s consensus was that C2 was the way to go. I bought a used Model D with PM3, which I really enjoy. Participating in C2’s challenges have helped me go from poor shape to rowing 5,000+ m several times per week. It's great to be rowing and yes erging again after 30 years!
