Trabuco Canyon CA USA I started rowing in May 2009 after getting my C2. I still like running as my main cardio, but I'm starting to feel it in my knees, and I'm hoping that rowing as cross-training will help me out. I like the physical challenge the workouts give me, and being a part of this virtual team is great for keeping me reaching for new goals. (I'm the short one on the right. :) ). Ranking ID #: 851661

Rolla MO USA Rowing has become such a big part of my life! I love the new strength and stamina I have found in my body. This seems to be the *perfect* exercise for me and I plan on continuing! Someday I hope to live where there is a rowing team. From what I have read, it sounds like a blast!

stroudsburg pa USA always learning... When I bought the C-2 I thought I finally found the silver bullet of exercise equipment. Something that would keep me in great shape and NOT injure an already fragile lower back. Well, I was only half right, the C-2 has been wonderful, but the other half of the "cure" is the positive reinforcement and encouragement I get from the online forums and rankings. There is nothing better than seeing my rank climb, however humbly, as I continue my workouts. Only at it for 6 weeks but am now solidly in the middle of 5000K rankings for my ancient age group. I am averaging 25-30K meters a week and hope to hit my first million mark in March '10. 53 180lbs/81.8kg goals: 5k/day...sub 20 min 5k

Indianapolis IN USA I'm a Scout leader, basketball coach, Sunday School volunteer, cyclist, backpacker, climber. I'm new to erging as of mid-July '08. Bought a used Model D w/ PM3 and row in my basement w/ my iPod. Completed my first million meters during the JVTC. My fitness level has increased exponentially, which is very motivating. It's great being fit and trim at 51, although I'm loosing my hearing from the ear buds.

Alexandria VA USA I realized this Spring just how poor my health had gotten. So I resolved to change course. Buying my rower is the best decision I've made in many years. I am watching the meters add up and my waist size go down. I have a long ways to go but I already feel good, strong and energetic.

Lower Hutt   NZL I'm going to row a marathon for World Autism Awareness Day 2nd April 2010. I made this decision about a month ago. Sitting in bed with my laptop, a chocolate bar and a cup of coffee. I'd never been on a rower, and thought you just set the damper to 10 and rowed. It's been what you might call a learning curve!

Little Rock AR USA I am not, nor ever have been, an athlete. I am just a middle-aged guy who is trying to adopt healthier eating and living habits. I got introduced to the rowing machine at the end of 2005 and bought one in January 2006. I used the rowing machine pretty faithfully for a few months until the weather got warm, then I started walking outdoors. I started rowing again in earnest right after Thanksgiving 2006. I set a goal to hit the Million Meter Club by April 30, 2007 and made it. Now my goal is to row at least a million meters annually. And I'd like to row a full marathon sometime in 2008. Update: I rowed my first Marathon on April 16, 2008 and hit the 3 million meter mark on Sept 3, 2008. I just joined a club for the Fall Rowing Challenge and just barely made my 200K Goal. I want to work hard and see if I can hit 4 million meters by April 09 and 5 million by Dec 09.

Virginia Beach VA USA I've been rowing off and on since college, when my roommate who did crew got me interested. I never joined the team for a variety of reasons (mostly because I'm not keen on 3-hour workouts that begin at 5am... more power to those of you who thrive on that kind of thing), but I've enjoyed using the erg on my own time. Otherwise in life, I enjoy teaching chemistry and refereeing volleyball. Can't argue with having summers off!
