Getting stronger erging, but still learning to scull a single. Hope to one day scull as fast as I erg! |

I learned to row at the University of Michigan in the mid 80's under the tutelage of none other than "Iron" Mike Caviston (he is an age group 2K erg world record holder). I still row as a lightweight thanks in part to the convenience of the C2 in my basement. I find that my back now prefers the symmetry of sculling and erging rather than the uneven strain of sweep rowing. I am fortunate to row at the fantastic Lake Lanier Rowing Club (on the site of the 1996 Olympic Rowing Venue) and enjoy competition as family and job responsibilites permit. |

I first started to row in 7th grade, in St. Paul, Minnesota. I rowed in Philly, trying out for the national teams, but did not make it. I plan on being more active both with the Concept II, and on the water, at my local club, the Lake Lanier Rowing Club, LLRC. Looking to compete back on the machine in the near future, when I get in better shape, that is! |
