Lewiston Maine USA Hey Free Spirits! I grew up in Northern Maine, Millinocket, for those of you who have heard of it. A canoeist and Kayaker. Tried out for the crew team at Syracuse after blowing out my ankle playing football. National champions in Men's Heavyweight 8 in 1987. Graduated in '90 and didn't touch an erg again until 2006... when I was contacted by Michelle and Free Spirits. The rest is history... I remembered how much I loved to row, and how much I enjoyed being part of a team. Thanks Free Spirits for the encouragement. I am always reachable: jeffrey.johnson2@fedex.com gunslinger_@hotmail.com Jeff

Manchester  Free Spirits GBR Been erging since mid 2007 and getting more serious by the day. My most pressing goal is to go sub 6:30 for 2k before BIRC 2009. It would, of course, be nice to repeat this feat at the race itself! I've also become addicted to RowPro which is just a superb motivational training tool.

Richmond BC, CANADA CAN I live in Richmond, BC, CANADA but I hold triple citizenships: Canada, Great Britain & Hong Kong - Wish I could represent all 3 countries when I grow up! I registered for the 1st time with C2 on 8 Dec 2007. My Stat: 5 ft 10-1/2 in, 163 pounds. I came back to row at age 44 in 2007 after an absence of 17+ years. Other sports are running, cycling, swimming and summer hiking. I always aim to break my present PBs so please HELP / coach me! Any training tips to improve time (500m to Marathon row) are always welcome. In the 2009 season, I came back injured from a broken collar bone and for the 2010 season I am trying to row less but cycle + run more! ***Latest news: Just completed 5 million metres on 3rd November 2009***

Fredericksburg TX USA Erg owner since 1988. Back in the 90's I had some top 10 placings for the 1/2 hour and 1 hour rankings and did 10 million meters from 94-98. These days I use the erg mostly for cross training but sometimes get into a groove of accumulating meters. Road cycling has been my primary sport since the 70's. I am currently riding over 12,000 miles a year and doing weekly long rides of 100 miles or more year round. If you are a road cyclist who is successfully cross training with the erg, drop me an email.

Green River WY USA Have never been on a rowing machine before, I had never even heard of one before 02/2009. We were doing some research to find a good piece of equipment to put in our home gym and ran across Concept2. After reading 100's of glowing reviews all over the web, we pulled the trigger and bought our Model D and received it on 3/6/2009. We are hooked, this will help us shed some pounds and tone back up. We live 6200' above sea level, someday I might check my numbers where I can breathe!

St Austell  Free Spirits GBR Came back to indoor rowing after noticing an unsightly bulge around my midriff which mysteriously appeared around my 40th birthday! It's been 11 years since I last rowed competitively in the 1997 BIRC. Started up in April 2008 with my main target this year (2008) to break sub 7 which I did at the BIRC (6.55.4). Looking to increase the distance for a marathon in April 2009 and will be aiming for sub 3hrs. It's good to be back. Always happy to receive emails from fellow sufferers! - Good luck everyone.

I lost 15lbs in this week and gained so much energy I have been rowing most days ever since. I looked for inspiration from "C2" - and found Free Spirits; on 7th/8th Feb managed to row for 24hours covering 254,220 m which took me over 5million lifetime metres. I'm currently a very sore but very happy man.
