It's the beginning of the season and I've got lots of time on my hands, so getting a head start on rowing here at work (Prudhoe Bay). Looking forward to adding variety to my rowing this year-- more running/walking/hiking, biking, Pilates, roller blading, cross country skiing, and jumping on the trampoline!!
It's an honor to be a member of the ducks....what a great group of ladies. Row on!!

I row as many meters as possible for peace, against rape, for abortion, and happiness to everyone. Also, I love perimeter biking (www.pbaa.com), running, and lifting weights.

Got to 12 million on September 28th. Got two PBs in June. Got a PB on the 60 min row in July. Got a PB in August on the HM and got 1017 nonathlon points for it. My very first 1000 point row. Still trying to row faster. Love the Ducks and rowing on RowPro.

I just got back from a business trip in southern California. While there I rowed at Xeno's Iron Oarsman AND worked out with Victoria Draper's "rowbics." The Rowbics is an aerobic class using the rowing machine and is different from "just" group rowing. My split is down from 2:40/500 average to 2:28/500 average. Check out "www.rowbics.com"

I first tried an erg in the mid-80s and loved it. Got our own in the mid-90s when kids came along. Always love the Holiday Challenge, only stopped for neck surgery. Though I love to kayak, I have yet to try real OTW. I live just down the road from the Erie Canal where Crew reigns, so I will soon. Love being part of the Ducks, great motivation and camaraderie!

I just finished my 2 million meters in April!! 1 million for the 2008/09 season. It turns out I did some of that with a torn supraspinatus rotator cuff. Ouch! I had surgery at the end of July and just got the OK to row 5 mins, 2X/day. I can add 1 min/day!! At least it's something!!

I received my rower in mid-May, 2005, from an Internet buddy (thanks, Kate!). One of my goals is to lose 90 pounds, and I'm stuck at 40, aaarrrgh! Anyway, I'm on my way to my 4 million meters, so we'll see what happens. I love the motivation and the challenges that the C2 website provides.

I started indoor rowing to get rid of overweight. Now, that I lost almost 30 kilo's I feel so much better now.
I started rowing on the water and I became a member of Hemus, the Amersfoort rowing club. Some years ago I couldn't imagine me rowing in a lightweight racing boat.
Rowing on the Concept 2 is wonderful for brainrelaxation, just row, thats all.

Woo-hoo!! I made it to my first official million meters on 4/30/09! I've been rowing for 4 years now, but for the first two years, didn't record my meters, silly me. Now on to the second million. Nothing like rowing (and giving up chocolate) to eliminate middle-age spread.

Started erging in September, 2002. Entered my first and only competition in November of that year on a dare from my daughter. She said there would be twenty buff men cheering me on and that it was really about the party afterwards! My goal was to finish, and I did. Now, I just try for slow and steady. Hope to complete my second milllion meters before my 68th birthday this March. The benefits of weight control and joint mobility are real. Each time I complete 5000+ meters in 30 miinutes I feel a sense of accomplishment. Go, DIAR!

I've never rowed on the water, only at home. Kayak when I get the chance on FLAT water; it's the best way to watch birds because you can sneak up on them. Rowing for fitness, but sure would like to try it on the water just once.....

I was introduced to rowing in college in our University Gym. I often found the rowing machines all lonely in the middle of the gym. So, I decided to try them out. I found that I stay interested when rowing as opposed to the treadmill or the stationary bike. I missed the rower after graduating. My husband and I were able to purchase a Concept 2 Rower after I received an inheritance. I was gung ho about rowing and I was progressing nicely. Then I got pregnant. I rowed consistently until I just got too big. Now, I have a wonderful little boy and I am trying to pick the rowing up again. I am excited to see where this takes me. Yeah!

I first erged on 3/13/06 and found the first piece of equipment I didn't hate. I bought myself an erg as a 63rd birthday present. Since then I've lost 42 pounds and gained a lot of energy.
-----
Addendum 1/14/08 - I fell off of the wagon when I changed jobs and my canine companion of 18 years passed on. I'm trying to climb back on. I'll be 65 in April and I'd like to look forward to more energy and cute clothes. My duck name is Ping.
