I started rowing Alden Ocean shells in 1991-1992 in Yarmouth,ME. I then erged faithfully on a Model B until 2004 when I joined the Amoskeag Rowing Club in Hooksett, NH. I'm still erging on a Model D when I can't be on the water in my Alden Star or a friend's Maas double, pictured here at the 2008 Essex River Race in Essex, MA.

I started rowing on the water in September 2004 to chase my wife and daughter. I love it--peaceful, beautiful and a good workout. Bought a Model D and have been going at it sporadically since. I'm still chasing them but am hopeful of narrowing the gap!

Started sculling when I was 55 on the Connecticut River near Dartmouth College. Joined ARC in 2000 after moving to Warner, NH. I now live in Concord and love rowing my Hudson single on the Merrimack. I also enjoy rowing an Alden Ocean Shell on the sometimes choppy waters of Lake Sunapee.

Rowed sweep at Rutgers and have since converted to sculling. I still jump at the chance to get back in a sweep boat and experience that "swing" and power of an 8!!
