As a card-carrying luna-tic, I'm committed to returning to the Moon. So for all of you folks affilated with NASA, or are just interested in space exploration, please join me in racking up the miles to and fro from the Moon. 250,000 miles each way, so I'll need a lot of help.
I row to help relieve some of the stress that goes along with being responsible for developing robotic explorers of our Moon. Working for NASA is actually a lot of fun and a great honor, but having the chain to pull helps guide my occasional angst into improving my health. I hope you enjoy similar benefits of this magnificent obsession.
Cheers!
Matt

I don't work for NASA, but I would go to the moon if I had a chance! Rowing there is the next-best thing.
I tie my rowing workouts in with training for running marathons. I ran my first marathon just before I turned 40 in 2004. Liked it so much that I set my new goal to complete 100 marathons before I die. I hope to be the oldest female on the course eventually. I figure if I keep at it long enough I will reach that goal.
Other passions include horseback riding; shooting sports; archery; fencing; Eskrima, a weapons based martial art of the Philippine Islands (more at www.HeartlandEskrimaSchool.com); good coffee and dark chocolate.
I love my Lord, Jesus Christ; my husband, Keith; my two sons, Tim and Ben; and my parents and sisters, and the rest of my family and friends, too!

My name is Noelle and I'm looking forward to going to the moon on my rowing machine! Once we get there, let's head to Saturn! :)
My goal for calendar year 2008 is to row 2 million meters so I can hit my 5 million meter mark (and perhaps drop a few lbs in the process).

Rowing is a great cross training exercise when it gets cold out to run. I love to do triathlons and have attempted two marathons but halfs are alot easier. I have gotten my husband and my daughter into rowing now as well on our new concept rower.

I started rowing in November of 2004. When not rowing I am fishing, hunting or working in one of our gardens.

For an "old dog" learning new tricks, the Concept 2 rower has been a valuable alternative to "pounding the pavement" during early morning jogs or cycling in the dark. Best wishes to all the LUNA-TICS striving to get back somewhere "out there."

Started rowing in 2005, but only half-heartedly, because I'm so busy with other "stuff." So far 2009 has been much more productive.
Other activities: road cycling, Jeep 4x4 off-roading, hiking and/or kayaking with my bride of 32 years (no, that's not her in the boat with me), shooting, model trains and, oh yeah, work. Father of five and grandfather of 8 with #9 due in December. "Don't expect me to treat you as an equal, if you demand to be treated differently."

My addiction to rowing began in 1987 when I was a freshman at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia. Currently I am rowing for the New Haven Rowing Club in Oxford, CT. With the help of a crew friend, I was able to purchase my own single in 2006. However, I don't race her. My racing focus is on eights, fours, and quads.

I started rowing about three years ago but haven't rowed much in 2008. I decided to get back on the erg by completing the 200K holiday challenge this year in the 20 days I have between travel--and am overjoyed to be rowing again. I moved to Cedar Falls, Iowa, in November 2008 and hope to find some other rowers in the area. To give myself a solid goal, I joined the LUNA-tics team--rowing to the moon sounds perfectly reasonable to me!

Woohoo! It's Kona2! I joined the Luna-Tics Team in December 2007. Bicycling is still my favorite way to see the world, yet rowing is very addictive. The team, and the challenges, helped me go farther faster - 5 MM lifetime meters (7/09).

Goals: (this one is ongoing) to have a body that men fear and women love & to become a male sex object!
Other goals: to overcome the typical weight gain (see police action shot) from Thanksgiving to January 31. exceed 612,000 meters in the winter challenge and row my first marathon in April 09); lose 30 more pounds!
Goals met (so far): 200,000 Holiday Challenge; met 2 millio mark; rowed 1/2 marathon; maintain weight since Thanksgiving.

I chose Delta-Vee as my user name as that is the 'physics shorthand' for escaping Earth's gravity - when you have enough delta-v, you fly! I've joined my fellow space cadets - the LUNA-TICS - in rowing to the moon and back. I'm part of a team at NASA that is responsible for returning humans to the Moon. I can't go there myself, so I'm rowing - and improving my fitness and upper body strength. Join the LUNA-TICS and fly to the Moon!

I ride my erg so I won't be a fat old man who once enjoyed a healthy life. It is also kinda fun.
