It's amazing how fast 1M meters goes by when you row a few every day.
I find rowing a minimum of 5K every day helps me feel better and maintain good health.
Thank you Concept2 for all your support with challenges, it provides that extra incentive to put in a few extra meters every day. I often manage an additional 10K - 15K per day during the challenges.

Hello, I am Patrick Landstra living in The Netherlands and being a fanatic indoor rower since I purchased a Concept 2 somewhere in the mid 1990's. I have always been somebody who likes sports (especially endurance). Had to stop running (also marathons) due to knee injuries. Also like roller skiing and X-cross skiing and played badminton at National level for many years. Apart from sports I am freelance photographer in my free time and in daily life technical trainer/coach for Philips Healthcare.

1. Just starting out so I'm not very fit. Hoping to improve. Added a rower to give variety to my workout.
2. The rowing is now a great part of my routine. It is almost addictive. The movement is very comfortable. Really enjoying it and seeing big fitness improvements!
3. Just over a year in & this is addictive. It fits in well with the rest of my routine.
4. Just completed my million metres & I feel great!
5. 2 million!
6. Did my Dive Master stamina tests with amazing results! Thanks concept.

[Jan 2007] Wow, hardly rowed for 9 months due to business and a knee injury. Spinning has done wonders for my knees, and the January virtual team challenge motivated me to drag my rower out of the basement and get going again! Go Team Canada!
[Feb 2005] Finally passed 1 million meters! Yahoo!
[Sep 2004] Rowing regularly 2-3 times a week for 1.25 to 1.5 hours. Passed half a million meters some time back. Project 1 megameter by about the end of the calendar year. :)
[Jun 2004] Did my first 2 hour row! 24259 meters in one sitting. :)
[Mar/Apr 2004] Have done several rows over an hour. Feeling healthy and really enjoying it! :)
[Mar 2004] Starting to row a little bit again. Just slight discomfort in my wrist and shoulder.
[Jan 2004] Was sleeping funny to stay off my wrist, and damaged my left rotator cuff. Still no rowing...
[Dec 2003] Argh! Broke my right wrist trying to learn to snowboard. Won't be rowing for a while.
[Aug 30, 2003] Just got the new Model D! It's great! :)

I work out at the Goodlife Fitness club in London and am also a member of the Chatham Canoe club. I am involved in Dragon Boat racing during the summer and have found that the rowing is a good way to improve my endurance. The challenges and distance club are also great motivators.

Rowed in college at the University of Puget Sound Varsity Team for two years. Then after a 10 year hiatus I bought an erg for myself. I used it infrequently that first year and then it collect dust for another few years. Since 2004 I've done the holiday challenge in part to combat S.A.D. and in part because the Midwest can be dreadful outside in those months. 2008 didn't row. 10/24/2009 I've officially reached my 1 Million Meters (probably 2-3Mil if you count college and water time). Now working on weightloss with the UK Weighloss Schedule - Let you know how it goes.

Over the past year, 2006, I have has 2 successful surgeries on my knees. I have started to cross train on an elipitical machine and the Concept 2 rower. My goal is to run a good 10K at the end of May 2007.
Having been a former Marathon runner, I now have no deside to run the long distances but am an ardent suppporter of my wife who recently took up long distance running. She also uses the Concept 2 rower to cross train and uses it primarily for cardio conditioning.

I never thought 10 years ago I'd still be at it but here I am...finally the year I should reach the 10 million meter mark...My best time so far this season is 38.39.3
I row three times a week distances of 10000 meters and every second day I do a one hour weight training session in my home gym . I also play hockey a couple of times a week in the winter and I inline skate in the summer.

I enjoy rowing. It is a great sport and way to relax.
My goal is to be part of the Million Honor Board. It takes time tough.
The guys at Concept 2 are awesome, their challenges keep me motivated and the on-line log is a fantastic help.
Keep rowing ;-)
