Poitiers AWL France FRA The circumference of the earth at the equator is 24,901.55 miles (40,075.16 kilometers).I made it. It took me 8 years and change. So now I'll go pole to pole it's a bit shorter 24859.82 miles (40008 km) so only 7 and a half years. As an update, I'm at about 25% of the pole to pole journey. Starting In Poitiers France this puts me on the edge of the north pole.

Venlo   NLD Started rowing as a student in 1968. Purchased a Concept 2 already 10 years ago but "discovered" it really in 2004 after a muscle injury: I could not run but had no problems on the erg. Now almostat the 3 million meters mark. I lost more than 20 pounds in weight and finished my first half marathon running in 2.10.10. Now I have to push myself to increase my real rowing on water.

Truro   GBR When I was about 52 I decided to row 10 million by my 60th birthday. I'm still plugging away with the 6 million coming up. I used to be quite quick but now concentrate on low stroke-rate, bigger distances and a moderate pace. I feel better that way!! Motivation isn't a great problem but if anyone want to pair up (or gang up) for some intermediate targets drop me a line. stephen_warman@hotmail.com

Hoddesdon Age without limits Hertfordshire GBR With a lifetime total of 4 million meters getting very close I thought it was time to revise my profile. Having completed the 2006 Solstice in three easy parts I challenged a much younger fellow gym user to do it properly in 2007. So with a half marathon under our belts I had to accept his return challenge - the 2007 BIRC at Birmingham. Mission accopmlished got the t-shirt and the (gold) medal with a lousy time whilst he had to settle for 8th place in a personal best. Next year!!!! Since then I managed 215k in the Seasonal Challenge and expect to clock up a similar figure during January having joined 'Age Without Limits' 4th January 2008
