Sue Dandridge
Port Townsend WA USA I fell in love with rowing in 2003. I row mostly on the water but enjoy the erg during the winter months. I hope to teach my little granddaughter to row some day. My friend Robin and I rowed 700 miles in 34 days in 2007 from Ketchikan to Anacortes, Wa in a boat we built. www.backwardsfromketchikan.org

Hope Alaska USA It's the beginning of the season and I've got lots of time on my hands, so getting a head start on rowing here at work (Prudhoe Bay). Looking forward to adding variety to my rowing this year-- more running/walking/hiking, biking, Pilates, roller blading, cross country skiing, and jumping on the trampoline!! It's an honor to be a member of the ducks....what a great group of ladies. Row on!!

Lawrenceville NJ USA I've never rowed on the water, only at home. Kayak when I get the chance on FLAT water; it's the best way to watch birds because you can sneak up on them. Rowing for fitness, but sure would like to try it on the water just once.....

Cindy Proano
Pittsford NY USA I first tried an erg in the mid-80s and loved it. Got our own in the mid-90s when kids came along. Always love the Holiday Challenge, only stopped for neck surgery. Though I love to kayak, I have yet to try real OTW. I live just down the road from the Erie Canal where Crew reigns, so I will soon. Love being part of the Ducks, great motivation and camaraderie!

Palo Alto CA USA Started erging in September, 2002. Entered my first and only competition in November of that year on a dare from my daughter. She said there would be twenty buff men cheering me on and that it was really about the party afterwards! My goal was to finish, and I did. Now, I just try for slow and steady. Hope to complete my second milllion meters before my 68th birthday this March. The benefits of weight control and joint mobility are real. Each time I complete 5000+ meters in 30 miinutes I feel a sense of accomplishment. Go, DIAR!

Amersfoort   NLD I started indoor rowing to get rid of overweight. Now, that I lost almost 30 kilo's I feel so much better now. I started rowing on the water and I became a member of Hemus, the Amersfoort rowing club. Some years ago I couldn't imagine me rowing in a lightweight racing boat. Rowing on the Concept 2 is wonderful for brainrelaxation, just row, thats all. Ank_Verrips@Hotmail.com

Scarsdale NY USA I began rowing seriously after Halloween '05, and the fun of the challenges, and comradarie I share with the Ducks in a Row on the boards have taken my life on a real postive upswing. Now, I look forward to every morning because I start it by ERGING, and I am very proud--in fact in AWE--of how far I can row. I may never win any races, but I am one proud Duck when it comes to my rowing!
