Myth #1: Rowing is only an upper body workout.

Rowing involves every large muscle group in the body. The legs are the primary driver on each stroke, followed by the core and finishing with the arms. The sliding seat allows the athlete to horizontally “jump” on each stroke, using the large muscles of the legs. Rowing is a high calorie burner because so many muscle groups are involved.

Myth #2: Rowing is hard.

Rowing is as easy or as hard as you like! While there is some technique to learn, we provide plenty of resources to get you started. Intensity is created by the user. New Logbook Features: Garmin Connect, Social Sharing, Better Privacy and More!

There have been a few changes to the Concept2 Online Logbook recently.

We've added Garmin Connect to our list of integrations. If you upload your workouts to the Logbook via the Concept2 ErgData app (or other apps that capture rowing stroke data), you can now set it up so that your workouts go directly into Garmin Connect. Just go to Edit Profile, choose Applications from the menu, and follow the instructions from there. It's a simple process that only takes a few seconds. (Note that this only works for upload methods that include stroke data, so it won't work for people uploading via the Concept2 Utility.) Continue Reading ›

Justin Farina is a high school physical education teacher from Sarnia, Ontario, Canada with a Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University (Ohio) and a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Windsor (Ontario). He played Division I baseball while at Miami and competed in shot put at Windsor. Justin is a multiple SkiErg world record holder in the men’s 30-39 division and participates in virtual competitions and challenges on both the Concept2 Indoor Rower and SkiErg.
