Different Strokes for Different Folks: Rowing at Sweat for a Vet

Nov 17, 2010

On November 13, hundreds of people in fitness centers around the world came together to Sweat for a Vet and celebrate Veteran’s Day and one of the greatest lessons we have to learn from them—resilience. Terry Smythe represented Concept2 CTS at the main Sweat for a Vet venue, Tyson’s Sport & Health, where well over 100 able-bodied and disabled people pedaled Spin bikes, Krankcycled and rowed for three hours to raise funds to buy fitness equipment for disabled vets. SkiErg Training with US Cross Country Ski Team Member Liz Stephen

Nov 11, 2010

On Saturday, November 6, members of First in Fitness health club in Montpelier, Vermont, were treated to a ski clinic of Olympic proportions. US Cross Country Ski Team member Liz Stephen, who skied in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics in the 10K and 15K Pursuit, is a Montpelier native. Josh Carlson from Concept2 was on hand to help and brought two additional SkiErgs for members to try. Continue Reading ›

I was at two seat in the 1980 Rowing Club eight, which took third place. We finished behind the same two crews as last year—but this time we were a little closer to them, and a little further ahead of the 4th place crew. All good, especially at this age where it is nice to see improvement from year to year, because more often you don’t! Continue Reading ›

The Dynamic Erg Prototype at the European Championships

Oct 06, 2010
The dynamic erg prototype made appearances at two major regattas in September: the World Masters Regatta in Canada and the European Championships in Portugal. This exposure gave us access to the impressions of current elite athletes as well as veterans in the sport. We’ve also received valuable feedback from several national teams training in both hemispheres. While the overall feedback continues to be positive, user comments have helped us identify a few more changes that will further improve the performance of the new design. Continue Reading ›
