Waking up to Reebok/CrossFit

Sep 19, 2011
Travel is already difficult enough with plenty of drinking, lots of eating, and little sleep, so during my last trip to Seoul, Korea, I added a little extra, CrossFit at 6:30 a.m.! The time didn’t matter, since there is this thing called jetlag, so why not join a Reebok CrossFit class after three hours of sleep? Continue Reading ›

Creature of Habit

Sep 12, 2011

Last week, I raced at the 2011 World Rowing Championships in Bled in Canada’s women’s 8+. It seems like it was ages ago, but I had an experience which is of relevance to this blog and is hopefully useful to all rowers. Training Veterans with the SkiErg

Aug 26, 2011

CXC has many different chapters as part of their program, including the Elite, Juniors, Masters, and Adapted teams. This past weekend, I traveled down to Chicago to help promote our adapted sports program at a disabled veteran’s camp. The camp had a maximum capacity of 50 people, which was unfortunate because there are not nearly enough opportunities like this one in the country. The participants, who came from all over, were able to try a variety of sports catered to all different physical abilities. Our sports station offered six laser biathlon guns and targets, four sitskis, and two Concept2 SkiErgs where participants learned proper skiing technique. Continue Reading ›
