Holiday Challenge Round Up

A new high of $31,434.96 was raised by the participants in the 2012 Holiday Challenge—up about $4000 from last year! This was thanks to the efforts of 2483 individuals who achieved the 200k level, over 5500 who surpassed 100k, and 385 kids and adaptive athletes who rowed or skied 50k—all between American Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve! A total of over 1.3 billion meters was reached—well over 10 million more meters than last year. An amazing nine individuals logged over one million meters each during these four weeks. Holiday Challenge Update

We are closing in on the fourth week of the Holiday Challenge, and the meter tally is really growing! Over 950 million meters have been rowed or skied for the 2012 Holiday Challenge, and we still have until midnight on December 24 to complete meters! The Sandy Ergs

As coincidence would have it, a New Zealand-bound container of indoor rowers shipped from Concept2 just days before Hurricane Sandy made landfall along the US eastern seaboard. The container had time to make it to the Port of New York and was staged for loading—and sitting near the bottom of the stack—when Sandy hit.
