Winners from the Head of the Charles

Nov 15, 2011

Why is unpacking so hard? After a long vacation, it is often difficult to unpack everything, wash clothes that still smell like the beach, and place thoughts of leisure into memories. Here at Concept2, unpacking from the Head of the Charles often feels like that. We’re quickly nostalgic for the fall head racing season as winter envelops Vermont.

In our belated update on the Head of the Charles, we wanted to be sure to congratulate the winners of the Social Network oar drawing:

An excited winner claiming her prize!

  • Katie B., Worcester Public High Schools Crew
  • Michiel B., Radcliffe Crew
  • Jan D., San Diego Rowing Club
  • Eileen H., Fairfield University
  • Cori M., Mount Holyoke College
  • Susan O., Litchfield Hills Rowing Club
  • Luke P., NorCal Crew
  • Bobby S., UGA Crew

Michiel B. was one of the rowers in the original race between Harvard and the Dutch National Team! The other winners were also excited to get their hands on a piece of movie memorabilia. Most of the winners weren’t sure yet where their oar would end up, so we’ll be excited to hear updates.

The Concept2 Regatta Service trailer

Four Concept2 employees raced at the Head of the Charles this year, which explains why, on occasion, the Regatta Service team briefly interrupted their work to cheer boats on towards the finish line. Countless oars and sculls passed through the Concept2 Regatta Service tent, where our team assisted competitors with their oar service needs.

Many thanks to the Head of the Charles for managing such a fantastic regatta! We look forward to it each year, and hope to order up the same great weather for 2012!
