Over 950 million meters have been rowed or skied for the 2012 Holiday Challenge, and we still have until midnight on December 24 to complete meters! The Sandy Ergs

As coincidence would have it, a New Zealand-bound container of indoor rowers shipped from Concept2 just days before Hurricane Sandy made landfall along the US eastern seaboard. The container had time to make it to the Port of New York and was staged for loading—and sitting near the bottom of the stack—when Sandy hit. Another Fall Team Challenge is in the Books

A total of 188 teams, composed of 3247 people, logged 308,256,325 meters on the indoor rower and SkiErg between September 15 and October 15. The average number of meters rowed per person was about 95,000 and there were 485 individuals who surpassed 200,000 meters!

Updating the Update

We first started sending out our Ergo Update newsletter back in December of 1982. The first issue was largely dedicated to covering the first-ever CRASH-B Sprints. It was a single 8.5 x 14” double-sided sheet.

As our customer base grew to include many people who weren’t on-water or competitive rowers, we expanded the Update to include a broader range of stories and information. By Spring 1991, the Update was an 8-page booklet; by Fall 1992 it had jumped to 12 pages. We first hit 16 pages in Fall 1994. Continue Reading ›
