Rooftop Solar

Our seven tracking solar PV arrays have pretty much exhausted the available space on the ground here in the Industrial Park, but only provide about a fourth of our electricity needs. Conveniently, we have plenty of south-facing roof space. And with the cost of solar panels coming down over the past few years, we decided it was time to explore the possibility of rooftop solar. We crunched the numbers, and they came out well.

Another World Championships has come and gone, and there is no doubt athletes and attendees will look back at this as one of best rowing events held this past year. Upon arrival at the course, you can’t help but notice the newness of the venue, which was completed in 2012. Early in the week, the final touches were being installed to fully prepare the grounds for the World Championships (I even watched a crew lay the final pavers in the walkway connecting the main building to the brand new boat bays). A Guide to Watching the 2013 World Rowing Championships

Racing at this year’s World Rowing Championships begins on August 25 in Chungju, Korea. Most crews arrived at least a week before the start date to allow plenty of time to adjust to the time change—it’s 13 hours ahead of Concept2’s Eastern Time! There were also rental boats to locate and rig, custom oars to decorate with national colors, and some very hot humid weather to get adjusted to. Jennifer Wilson joined Concept2’s Customer Service Team in 2003 after learning about the job from long-time friend and one of the first Concept2 employees, Bob Beeman. The CrossFit Games are the culmination of a season of CrossFit events that whittle down the athlete pool to approximately 100 of the world’s fittest people. Using the Online Ranking as a Training Tool

For those who haven’t discovered it yet, the Concept2 Online Ranking is a very large and constantly growing database of best times for twelve different distance/time pieces on the indoor rower or SkiErg. Results have been submitted by rowers and skiers from around the world. Its thousands of entries can be readily sorted by event, age group, gender, weight class, country, state, adaptive category and more.
