The 2019 World Rowing Virtual Indoor Sprints Is Here!

The fourth annual World Rowing Virtual Indoor Sprints begins on March 6 and runs through March 10. The Indoor Sprints are an exciting joint initiative between Concept2 and World Rowing. To take part, all you have to do is row 1000 meters on the Concept2 Indoor Rower (Model A–E indoor rowers only, no Dynamic or indoor rowers on Slides) at any point between March 6-10 and post your time to the Concept2 Online Logbook. Justin Farina is a high school physical education teacher from Sarnia, Ontario, Canada with a Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University (Ohio) and a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Windsor (Ontario). He played Division I baseball while at Miami and competed in shot put at Windsor. Justin is a multiple SkiErg world record holder in the men’s 30-39 division and participates in virtual competitions and challenges on both the Concept2 Indoor Rower and SkiErg. There was a time (which now seems like a long, long time ago) when my workout wasn’t a rushed affair squeezed in between meetings, daycare pickup, and folding laundry. Recently, I found myself feeling a tinge of jealousy when I realized my friend who was working out after work had the luxury of a warm up, a long workout, a full cool down, and a long, hot shower in her own bathroom. My workouts these days used to be my warm ups. As a full-time working mother of two young girls, I’ve adopted a new exercise motto: “Something is better than nothing.” Here are a few suggestions on how to sneak in a little rowing, skiing and riding in your life, no matter what demands are placed on your time.
