Holiday Challenge: Over $31,000 Raised!

The Holiday Challenge is one of our biggest annual challenges on the Concept2 Online Logbook. Running from American Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve, every year we challenge you to try and row or ski at least 100k, with additional incentives and prizes for people who reach the 200k mark.
The Holiday Challenge is also a major fundraising event, and this year we were rowing and skiing for disaster relief organizations, both international and in our home state of Vermont, which was hit very hard by the aftermath of Hurricane Irene.
For every person who finished at least 100k (50k for kids and adaptive athletes), Concept2 donated $.02 for each kilometer up to 100k and $.04 for each kilometer on top of that. In total, a phenomenal $31,018.36 was raised by over 5900 people rowing and skiing nearly 1.3 billion meters! Here is the breakdown by charity:
- Vermont Disaster Relief Fund—$12,168.59
- American Red Cross Disaster Relief (International)—$10,209.54
- Unicef—Emergency Relief Programs—$8,631.23
Thank you to everyone who took part! If you haven’t yet downloaded your Holiday Challenge certificate, you can still do so on the Challenges page of your Logbook. If you earned a Holiday Challenge pin, expect it to arrive in your mailbox via first class mail by mid-February, at the latest.
