When Scott Hamilton joined Concept2 in 2001 as an Electronic Product Engineer, his love for “gadgets” had already brought him great success. Fresh out of the University of Vermont with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Scott had joined two others to start up an engineering consulting firm, which evolved into PocketWizard, a leading producer of remote controls for photographic  equipment. But after many years with the company, Scott was ready for something new. He attended a local job fair, and that’s when he was recruited by Concept2.

“There’s really no typical day,” Scott says of his work life. If Scott is not busy troubleshooting a new app or servicing in-house machinery such as oar production equipment, you might find him working on the latest improvements to the Performance Monitor. He also provides technical support for the indoor racing software used at events like the CrossFit Games or the World Indoor Rowing Championships. “I enjoy working on several different projects at once,” he says.

In his spare time, Scott enjoys volunteering in the community. He is a trustee of the iconic Stowe Community Church in Stowe, Vermont, and likes to be involved with local theater when he can. And yes, his hobbies also include “messing around with gadgets,” including his “way too many computers and tablets,” or Arduino projects. “I guess I’m a geek at heart,” he admits with a smile.
