The 28th CRASH-B world indoor rowing championship took place on February 22, 2009 at the Agganis Arena in Boston. There were over 2,150 entrants from more than a dozen different countries. Among those taking part were legend Thomas Ebert, double Olympic champion in the Danish men's lightweight four, and Tang Bin and Zhang Yangyang from the Chinese women's quadruple sculls, who won China's first ever Olympic rowing gold at the Beijing Olympics.
