I am originally from New York City, where I lead an extremely busy and active lifestyle and worked out at one of the best gyms in the country with personal trainers etc. Five years ago I moved away to China where I had no access to proper food or proper workouts and had a very different lifestyle, which lead to weight gain and loss of fitness. To make matters worse, I moved to Europe 2 years ago with my husband. We started consulting, which meant working from our computers and living in airports as we travel 70% of the year. The pounds kept piling on and treadmills were getting on my nerves, I felt at a loss for what to do to recover my fitness.
During the Olympic games I found the rowing races super exciting and wondered how intense the exercise would be, so I researched rowing clubs in my town so I could get out and have fun while exercising. That's how I found the Concept2 site. I didn't find a rowing club but I found a gym with the Concept2 Indoor Rower almost 2 months ago and I find it super challenging. I struggle trying to keep the right form and to improve, and although I'm alone on my Concept2 journey here, reading the forum questions and feedback from rowers all over keeps me focused and trying.
